This morning, I do what I usually do upon awakening.
I have a routine, although, I HATE saying I have a routine. It really galls! me to have a routine. Nevertheless, I do:
I wake up to Gus and his "Morning Wake-Up Wag". (that's a whole post in itself), I go pee, let Gus outside to pee, go get a glass of something to drink -usually V8 or water, feed Kitty & Gus, then sit to computer to wake slowly while reading emails, and the daily news. Today I had sliced & salted two cold homegrown Grainger County, TN tomatoes the size of softballs to eat while reading.
- I get the NY Times every day. Something caught my eye. As I watched the photo slide show and listened to this I was MOVED.... I got a real mixture of emotion: pride, sadness, empathy, and finally joy for the guys! Here's to all the guys. Listen to their words, help them, encourage them. I am still moved.
- I listened to our home voice mail... MAMMOGRAM IS CLEAR!!! I was MOVED to decide to enter future races to raise $ for Breast Cancer.. I was MOVED to email a "Buddy Check" to all gals in my address book to remind them to schedule their annual test, post a "Buddy Check" bulletin on MySpace, and to click here to help donate a free mammogram to those in need! (--I also found good Christmas presents for this year!) Today I got replies from women I haven't written or talked to in a long time! Which leads me to .........
- I have worked hard to be a better friend. I am surprised how well it is working! WOW! It's funny how very simple it is! I was MOVED when I just received the fourth invitation this week to see friends! Sunday dinner across the lake, Thursday luncheon with 3 gals I used to work with, today I was invited to a Cincinnati Reds Game for next month-double WOO HOO to that!, and tomorrow for dinner with another friend across the lake. It's great to have all these friends when hubby travels. I need them! Thanks-Gals!
- Yesterday I was walking with Gus on our no-sidewalk-on-the-mountain-rural-road when a car traveled around the 90 degree turn above our house at about 30 mph! Gus was startled, as was I, and at the same time a group of neighbor dogs were barking at us. Gus pulled so hard to get away from dogs and car, & somehow pulled his neck out of the collar, leaving me holding leash attached to collar. The car screeched to a halt, I screamed, dog was unscathed. I thanked them for not hitting dog, but they angrily pressed accelerator and sped down hill to Karaoke Night at the Marina... I was MOVED to deposit dog at home, hop on ATV, go to Marina and give them a piece of my mind. Well, I did just that! I felt better. (Especially with big Trent by my side!!!) Driver promised to watch speed in the future! Yeah, RIGHT!
