Finally home and alone again. The gal-friends came for a great weekend on the lake. I was late arriving as I stayed to get hair done and to go with Mom to nursing home to finalize the bill. Dad is doing great right now. He's practicing walking his ramp in the garage, fixing small meals for himself. He is still a bit impulsive with bladder practices.
Sis arrived Friday night and had a great weekend.
I drove home in a constant 5 hrs of steady rain downpour. It seemed whenever I left a downpour I was in another just 3 min. later. I was so tense when I got home, that muscles I didn't even know I had were aching 2 days later!
Retrieved a large [piece] of driftwood {actually a tree} from the lake for T. She has a water turtle. She needs a place for it to bask in the sun in its 110 gal home. It took over an hour for me to tow with the boat and for Hubby to saw with chainsaw, and for us to drag with jetski to ramp and load into bed of dualie truck. We laughed that we women had become "high maintainence" at that point!!!
I have taken today "off" of most housewife duties. I did go get my bloodwork taken for MD appt next week and stopped at grocery on the way home. I also deposited checks in the bank. I am resting for the day and will begin the chores tomorrow! I need a break from life.
This is a boring post.

Travel Again!
OK ,,, I'm on the road again. Mom had some minor skin surgery and I came to take her and to support her. She has worked so hard to help Dad with his journey of illness. She was so nervous this afternoon going to the office. The procedure was completed in less than 15 min. and she was laughing and having fun leaving with 6 stitches on her back.
We went to Red Lobster and had a wonderful meal on the way home! I treated. I heard her bragging to a friend later about how well her daughter took care of her today. Sis called from out of state 3 times as she had a job interview and couldn't get away. Believe me it was necessary to go to this interview.
About Running: I haven't! My Brooks shoes are in friends car (since the 5K on July 3), I've traveled somewhere and lost my running shorts, and sports bra! Now I cant' find my iPod case with all cords, etc!!! what's up with that!!???? I am disorganized, inattentive, and irresponsible! That's how I feel about that!
I want to go home for friends' visit tomorrow early. I postponed my hair color appt. for 2 pm tomorrow. Mom wants me to accompany her to Nursing Home where Dad was poorly treated by PT..(a PTA injured him and nearly caused his death due to chemical restraint of narcotic Fentynal-prescribed for pain).. I can't leave Mom to deal with the Home alone. I will stay for appointment and go with her. It's at 4 pm, so I won't get out of here at least until 6pm....arriving home around 11 pm. That leaves Hubby to entertain galfriends! He'll HATE that (tongue in cheek).....
I feel terrible about my eating...... I am gaining so much weight! Time to go rigerous on the food intake! Seriously!

Ok I Am On!
I am beginning a blog for myself to track my changes, and to keep me honest! I want to change my health!
Running? ME? NEVER?
HAH! I CAN run....and I am running! I can't believe it. I would have never suspected that I, who smokes- drinks- and eats all the wrong things, could actually run! I started in May 2007 in Arizona.
I was on track, running 3 times a week. We moved back home to Tn where we live on Norris Lake. We boat, travel to visit family, and are very, very active just being us! Then......
I got off my schedule and basically quit running for 2 months! I needed a jump-start to get me going.....I registered for a 5K in Knoxville. THAT outta do it! Wow. time got away from me and the run was upon me. My friend signed up too. (She is quite an inspiration for me)..
We went and ended up walking more than running ----because I didn't train consistently and FOR 6 MONTHS as most of my reading tells me... My finish was 0:53:08....I was 905th! (only 8 people behind me) OMG, at least I finished. Now, I know what NOT to do before a race. My friend and I stopped and had sushi and a beer each before going! MISTAKE!! BIG, MISTAKE! She was fine, but not me.
I've learned my lesson. I'm still not running, but reading about it. Time to get off my duff and start again. I will get better organized. I will, I will.
