Unrelated Rambling........

I found this site and decided to post my map below. I will update periodically, if needed.

I most wish to go to Seattle area or Alaska / Hawaii..... How about you?
If you make your own map, copy your link on comment so I can view...
I've traveled through some of those, but not "visited" so felt they were unworthy of a 'checkmark'....... Wisconsin was a flash of a memory as we went when I was about 7 or 8. Wisconsin Dells vacation. I have pics of me sitting on an Indian's lap with his tommahawk up! How funny.

My favorite places? Hmmm. Tennessee and Louisana so far....(Although I've not been back since the Hurricane!) I just love New Orleans! Can you say home of the LUCKY DOG???

Funny! I Love HOT DOGS because of the Cincinnati Red Legs games I attended as a child (yes, I was a child when I was 17 too!) I went with Dad and Sis....we had contests..."WHO could eat the most hot dogs in one game???"
As I remember, it was usually ME who got yelled at most..."DOWN IN FRONT!!" cause I couldn't sit still...hee hee. Sis and I developed a love for sports from Dad. Sis loves BB and I love FB...We both adore baseball...although she knows how to use those scorecard thingy's...

Wow, I'm "MOVED"!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This morning, I do what I usually do upon awakening.
I have a routine, although, I HATE saying I have a routine. It really galls! me to have a routine. Nevertheless, I do:
I wake up to Gus and his "Morning Wake-Up Wag". (that's a whole post in itself), I go pee, let Gus outside to pee, go get a glass of something to drink -usually V8 or water, feed Kitty & Gus, then sit to computer to wake slowly while reading emails, and the daily news. Today I had sliced & salted two cold homegrown Grainger County, TN tomatoes the size of softballs to eat while reading.

  • I get the NY Times every day. Something caught my eye. As I watched the photo slide show and listened to this I was MOVED.... I got a real mixture of emotion: pride, sadness, empathy, and finally joy for the guys! Here's to all the guys. Listen to their words, help them, encourage them. I am still moved.

  • I listened to our home voice mail... MAMMOGRAM IS CLEAR!!! I was MOVED to decide to enter future races to raise $ for Breast Cancer.. I was MOVED to email a "Buddy Check" to all gals in my address book to remind them to schedule their annual test, post a "Buddy Check" bulletin on MySpace, and to click here to help donate a free mammogram to those in need! (--I also found good Christmas presents for this year!) Today I got replies from women I haven't written or talked to in a long time! Which leads me to .........

  • I have worked hard to be a better friend. I am surprised how well it is working! WOW! It's funny how very simple it is! I was MOVED when I just received the fourth invitation this week to see friends! Sunday dinner across the lake, Thursday luncheon with 3 gals I used to work with, today I was invited to a Cincinnati Reds Game for next month-double WOO HOO to that!, and tomorrow for dinner with another friend across the lake. It's great to have all these friends when hubby travels. I need them! Thanks-Gals!

  • Yesterday I was walking with Gus on our no-sidewalk-on-the-mountain-rural-road when a car traveled around the 90 degree turn above our house at about 30 mph! Gus was startled, as was I, and at the same time a group of neighbor dogs were barking at us. Gus pulled so hard to get away from dogs and car, & somehow pulled his neck out of the collar, leaving me holding leash attached to collar. The car screeched to a halt, I screamed, dog was unscathed. I thanked them for not hitting dog, but they angrily pressed accelerator and sped down hill to Karaoke Night at the Marina... I was MOVED to deposit dog at home, hop on ATV, go to Marina and give them a piece of my mind. Well, I did just that! I felt better. (Especially with big Trent by my side!!!) Driver promised to watch speed in the future! Yeah, RIGHT!

This Reminds Me......

of some family pictures!

JOGGING~!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Ok! It's time to get more serious! I mentioned my clothing was somehow "lost"....I think misplaced is a better word... ;-) The weather was 105 here in K-town today! That's AFRICA HOT to me.

I got my annual mammogram this morning, had lunch with ex-co-workers, and had a great day IN THE AIR CONDITIONING. We caught up and laughed our butts off! We had soup & fruit for lunch. M told me she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer! She had a lumpectomy, and 3 radiation treatments. I am devistated for her. I will now plan my race runs for breast cancer! My mother's family has some genetics there too.

I'm going tonight to run in the park. It better cool down! The weather will determine if I take Gus with me or not. He's a black dog and his hair has gotten pretty long....The only crazy people there will be ME .....probably just me! I'll be safe and walk briskly if it is too hot.

Thanks, sis for looking up running store for me while I was driving. Computers are a good thing, eh?

I think Gus and I will go on a long jet ski ride today before jogging....YES< i'll have a life jacket on!!!!!!!!!!

What's up with THAT????

what is going on here??? WHY do people have to just "pick up" something that is not theirs!? If I leave something OBVIOUSLY accidently, what makes you think it's now YOURS????

OK, yes I was irresponsible to let it fall onto the hospital waiting room couch, BUT that doesn't mean YOU own it now!!!! For God's sake, it was my hubby's anniversary present from me...

You only want it cause you can get $$$$ for METH! I despise you for taking it!

GIVE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you CRACKHEAD!

Weekend's Over~

Weekend is over. What a ride. Fun with friends. Lots of laughs this weekend. Got hubby on the road to wellness. Turns out it was 'benign positional vertigo'..... ok, when he moves 'position' -he spins.... WE knew that!!! haha
Got meds this time tho. They make him sleepy, but not a bad thing. Complete physical scheduled as "new patient" for colleague of my MD. I'm happy to get this going for him. He's hedging on borderline high BP and needs meds to start controlling it. I really don't enjoy this aging process! We need to get healthier!

I went running again Saturday. Sad to say, it was too hot and I had to stop after 20 min. My companion dog got hot too. So I called it quits. I'll go again Monday. I'm reading a new book by Stu Mittleman called SLOW BURN...how to lose fat by running slower. He has some great ideas and I'm using them. Funny, I do feel better. The next thing I need to do is find a relatively inexpensive heart monitor for exercising. I know SOMEone out there in cyberspace has one they aren't using and want to sell. I want one that is programmable and can input into computer for recordkeeping.

I'm excited. I borrowed the new Microsoft Flight Simulator X on DVD for computer. I just couldn't get used to the FS '98..version I have. NOW I need the yoke for 'puter. Keyboard just is too hard to use. I am starting flying lessons in Fall (soon!) and want practice. My family thinks I'm kindof silly for this desire....My hubby & I don't. I've wanted to do this for better than 25 yrs~ I'll know soon enough if it's not for me. I'll use the discovery lesson AND I have a pilot friend here in TN who is excited to take us up with him for some time (hubby is insistent to go for the fun of it too!)...he's offered to allow me to spend time there learning a bit too!

Friends have left for home, hubby is asleep - drugged w/ perscription Meclazine - and doggie is asleep. CAN U SAY TIVO ?????????

Walked / Ran a 5k then stopped training

What was wrong with me!!??? I was training and finished a 5k mostly walking with a great friend on July 3! We had a great night. Hubby was there to support and I felt GREAT!!! My excuse for stopping was that I left my running shoes in friends' car.. BAD excuse..
Ok, I started again tonight.... I went to nearby park and ran / walked CoolRunning.com Couch to 5 k week 2. (1.43 mi) I mapped my run on Mapmyrun.com. I smoked 6 cigarettes last night and I've been off them for 5 days then BAM! that damned trigger. I'm trying to quit those nasty-ass things! I have a trigger to smoke: ALCOHOL.... Drank red wine last night.. I wasn't out of breath any more than usual tonight, tho. Gustav- "Gus" - my Portuguese Water Dog -hereafter PWD -ran with me tonight! He loves it. He just stays right beside me (leashed). He's on the bed, sighing, and exhausted. Good, he was so bored he was driving me nuts wanting to go in and out - in and out. It's been thunderstorming every day this week.

Hubby will be proud of me getting back into running! I need it. I feel so good afterward. Endorphines are a great thing! But, this, I do for ME. Nobody else!

Speaking of hubby--T is coming home tomorrow morning. Ya see, he's traveling a LOT. He's in trade show business (sales) and goes for shows, visits clients, etc. We are going on a little venture tomorrow when he gets home. *I'll tell about it later*

I go for quarterly MD check on Monday! GAG. Blood work was finished early this week. I know she's gonna bitch cause I've gained weight. I am craving salt like the dickens~ Glad I'm not a snail!!!
